The exhibition as an “instrument” in which you will fully enter and through a simple rotation of the eyes or the head you will discover new, surprising, both unique and familiar shapes. At the same time, it is a duty and a joy! Following the Call for Artists campaign (held between January 15th and 30th 2022), to which about 100 artists applied, Kulterra Gallery selected a number of 9 artists to represent exclusively. But another 36 artists have been selected to be presented and marketed at the Kulterra Art Store, which opened on March 10th 2022.

If so far, all the exhibitions have presented works by artists who have a contract with the gallery, it is the turn of those who have been selected for the Kulterra Store to be introduced to our public. The 36 artists cannot be joined naturally. They differ from each other in almost every way! The topics covered, how they were “attacked”, the solutions found, the technique and materials used, the morphology, aesthetics and syntax of each one raises serious curatorial issues.
It’s an almost impossible bet. How to put together universes that, if you are not careful, risk colliding?

Of course, painting, installation, photography, ceramics, sculpture, illustration and so on can easily be found around a concept. Only for that we should have chosen works that respond to a theme! But we have a desire, an intention, more than a theme. In addition, artists have produced works of art that have reflected their own obsessions, as they have manifested themselves throughout their lives without necessarily revolving around a subject that is within our reach.

And then? Will we limit ourselves to a “smart” exhibition, on superficial criteria, based on chromaticity, size, texture and shape? Or will we look beyond these landmarks for that “something” that is only mysteriously revealed, that “something” that links a “text,” that adds the verb to a sentence made up only of nouns? Let’s be honest: we look through a kaleidoscope ourselves! We turn it slowly, sometimes to one side, sometimes to the other, trying to discover it in tiny permutations, but with total, dramatic effects, the “final” form.

Will we make it? You will decide! But we’re waiting for you at Kaleidoskop. Don’t rush: every move, no matter how small, completely changes your perspective and introduces you to a whole new world.
